The primary data can be created in an excel sheet based on the prepared questionnaire. When we are set to create data in excel it is important to look at the questionnaire and the objectives are given. The data can be created based on random sampling, where we apply labels for each given option.
For example., if we have to create data for a demographic variable like age and these are the options given as 18-25 years, 25 - 35, and 35- 45, we can label the options as 18-25 years - “1”, 25- 35 years - “2”, and 35 - 45 years - “3”.
If we have to create data for Likert scale questions/ variables, there are 5 - 7 Likert scale responses present in any kind of questionnaire. If we look at the basic 5-point Likert scale, responses like strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, and strongly agree. We can label the options as 1 = Strongly disagree, 2 = disagree, 3 = neutral, 4 = agree and 5 = strongly agree.
We can try creating the data in excel through the random command. But that would create data that cannot suffice with our objectives. Therefore, we can try manually creating the data and try editing the data accordingly.
